Your data remains accessible in read-only mode for 30 days after cancellation. During this time, you can export your data or reactivate your subscription. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted from our servers. We recommend exporting your applications and role history before canceling if you want to keep a record.

Absolutely. We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Connecting email is optional; when you do, we use OAuth, so we never see your password. We only request read-only access and only process messages that relate to your search. We're SOC 2 Type II compliant and undergo regular security audits.

No. You can run your whole search in Vigil by adding roles from our job board or your own list. Connecting email is an optional input that keeps tracking automatic—we support Gmail today (personal and Google Workspace), with Outlook/Microsoft 365 and LinkedIn messaging coming soon. If you need a specific provider, let us know!

Your 7-day free trial gives you full access to Sentinel features—no credit card required to start. At the end of the trial, you can choose to subscribe to either Nightwatch ($10/mo) or Sentinel ($100/mo), or simply let the trial expire with no charge. Only the ones about your search—messages from recruiters, hiring managers, and companies responding to your applications. We don't read or process personal emails, newsletters, or anything else. You can review which messages Vigil has processed at any time in your dashboard.

Vigil's AI is highly accurate at keeping your applications in sync, matching roles to your background, and extracting key details (company, role, compensation, etc.). However, no AI is perfect. If you notice an error, you can edit any detail yourself, and your corrections help improve the system over time. Sentinel subscribers also review tailored resumes and drafted outreach before anything goes out.
